Do you give routine fluoride treatments to all your patients?
We do not treat all our patients the same with regards to fluoride use. Fluoride treatments are given to children, teenagers, anyone with a high decay rate, and adults with significant gum recession or root-surface sensitivity.
My sister gives her children fluoride drops, should I be giving mine fluoride supplements too?
Some communities do not have fluoridated water. In this case the dentist would prescribe a fluoride supplement at an appropriate dosage.
Does bottled water contain fluoride?
Most water contains some fluoride naturally. However, unless the fluoride content is printed on the label, it may not contain adequate fluoride to prevent tooth decay.
