Dr. Trunnell has special interests in implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and orthodontics.

He is a kind, patient, and gentle practitioner, who takes time to listen to his patients, explain treatment plans and options, answer questions, and support patients through any dental concerns.

Dr. Grant Trunnell is from Iowa and a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Go Hawkeyes! Prior to joining Plum Grove Dental Center, Dr. Trunnell worked for four years at a group practice in Sycamore, Illinois. He also served five years on active duty as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy, deploying twice to the Middle East onboard USS McFaul during Operations Enduring Freedom & Iraqi Freedom.

In addition to service to the country, Dr. Trunnell values community service. While in college and after, Dr. Trunnell has found numerous opportunities to volunteer both within and outside the dental field. While in dental school, Dr. Trunnell spent an externship focused on treating patients at a long-term care rehabilitation center and those with special needs. He now enjoys regular visits to area schools to help students learn and feel positive about dental health.

A resident of Arlington Heights, and father of three, Dr. Trunnell greatly values his local community. He likes getting to know his patients and particularly likes working with family members of all ages, across generations. Irish by marriage, and Midwestern at heart, he has the gift of the gab and is always up for swapping sea stories with fellow Veterans, but is just as comfortable talking a nervous child (or adult) through a positive dental experience.

When not at work, Dr. Trunnell is a Cross-Country, Track, Irish Dance, Soccer, Theatre, and fiddle Dad. He's also dog-Dad to two, a huge-hearted black Lab rescue from Arkansas, and a very silly, but loveable, Dalmatian. His wife, Kelly, is a native of Arlington Heights, and also a U.S. Navy Veteran. When not busy with all of that, Dr. Trunnell loves a good book, conversation, or trip to see or learn something new. Someday he hopes to have a vegetable garden impenetrable to Dalmatians and squirrels.
