Dr. Michelle Zmick brings over 35 years of experience in periodontics and implant dentistry to Plum Grove Dental. A native of the Chicagoland area, Dr. Zmick completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana before earning her dental degree with honors at Loyola University School of Dentistry. While at Loyola, Dr. Zmick received departmental honors in Pharmacology and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honorary. She continued her studies at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry to earn her Postgraduate Specialty Certificate in Periodontics.

Dr. Zmick has taken extensive continuing education in all phases of periodontics, laser surgery, and implant dentistry; and has lectured in periodontics throughout her career. She has been a faculty member at the both the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and Illinois Masonic Medical Center. She became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 1993. Dr. Zmick is also certified to provide intravenous conscious sedation (“twilight sedation”) to make her patients’ visits more comfortable. She is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and is Past President of the Illinois Society of Periodontists and the West Side Branch of the Chicago Dental Society.

Aside from her professional career, Dr. Zmick enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband have 5 grown children and 5 grandchildren. She is an avid ballroom dancer and also enjoys travel, fashion, and health and fitness.
